“A long local tradition”
The area of Terralbese in Sardinia has a long tradition in the cultivation of courgettes. Our land is particularly suited for its optimal soil and great climate conditions. Being a monoecious plant, the courgette produces male and female flowers separately: the female flowers produce fruits while the male ones, known as courgette flowers and recognisable as they are longer than the female flowers, are used as a food. Besides the ìclassicî variety of green courgette, there are also round and white courgettes.
The mild climate and the quality of the water used for irrigation contribute to obtaining a product with unique taste and flavour characteristics. We use advanced integrated cultivation techniques for the entire production and guarantee the traceability of the supply chain for each single product lot.
HEALTH BENEFITS
Courgettes are becoming increasingly appreciated for their many health benefits: in fact, they are suitable for any diet and help to increase the intake of water, potassium and fibre; they stimulate a feeling of satiation and are good against metabolic disorders.
