“A Mediterranean climate product”
This variety of lettuce, also known as ìcrispheadî, has a particularly compact shape, crunchy leaves and very light colour, light green on the outside and creamy white on the inside. The leaves have a particularly fresh and delicate taste and can be eaten raw or cooked. They are cultivated in the plain of Campidano using conventional methods and integrated pest management techniques.
HEALTH BENEFITS
This type of lettuce has many different properties, in particular it is: good for the digestive system due to its high fibre content, good for the whole body for its high content of mineral salts and vitamins A and C, great for the circulatory system as it contains a particular molecule, the glucokinin, which makes this food particularly suitable for people suffering from diabetes and it is also very good to stay in shape as it only has 19 kcal every 100g. Its composition, almost completely fat-free and with complex carbohydrates such as non-digestible fibre, makes it particularly suitable for people who are overweight.
