“Quality from Campidano”
When you eat the Asparagus of the Orto di Eleonora, you have the guarantee of a quality product grown in the Sardinian lands of Campidano, sold in an innovative and attractive package. The cultivation of the asparagus was introduced in Sardinia in the last years of the 1980s, in particular in the areas where we now grow our asparagus, a fertile, deep, well-ventilated soil without weeds. The favourable soil conditions, the farmersí great experience and the use of integrated farming techniques result in an incredibly tasty and fresh product. In fact, the asparagus plants are always taken to the processing warehouse within a few hours of harvest in order to prevent the premature activation of the metabolic processes which make the pulp fibrous and dry.
HEALTH BENEFITS
Long been present in Sardinian cuisine, this vegetable is characterised by a high content of fibre and mineral salts, especially potassium which is extremely important to maintain the body’s water balance; in addition, the asparagus is particularly suited for low-calorie plant-based diets.
